May 19 and 20, 2012 marks the 21st Annual Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival showcasing the best contemporary fine art and craft from around the country. Over two hundred artists fill the streets of Reston’s up-scale Town Center with an outdoor art exhibition that is regarded as one of the top festivals on the East Coast.  Artists are selected on the basis of quality, originality, and craftsmanship by a panel of jurors who are experts in their fields. Festival  organizers also invite ten award winners from the previous year and six percent of participating artists.  In 2011, thirty percent of exhibitors were first-time artists. The festival is produced by Greater Reston Arts Center (GRACE), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, in support of its exhibition, education, and outreach programs. No sales commissions are charged and festival admission is free but voluntary donations are encouraged. 100% of the funds collected go directly to support GRACE’s mission.

Call for Exhibition Proposals, 2013 Season

GRACE (Greater Reston Arts Center) is a non-profit arts center in Northern Virginia dedicated to presenting visual art that illuminates new ideas and promotes dialogue between artists and audience. The exhibition program offers artists from the mid-Atlantic region opportunities to experiment and expand their work in an open, contemporary space. Artists living or working in Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia are invited to submit proposals.
GRACE exhibitions are scheduled from September through July and include solo exhibitions, thematic shows, site-specific and inter-active installations, and an annual juried exhibition. The arts center also sponsors opening receptions, artist talks, workshops, readings, music, dance, and other cultural programs as part of its mission to engage the community in contemporary art.
The arts center is now accepting proposals for periods of approximately 4 – 6 weeks from November 2012 through September of 2013. Six solo artists will be grouped into two Focus Exhibitions, each featuring three artists in separate areas of the gallery. Group exhibition proposals are also welcomed.

Call for Video Artists: AC Institute  - NY
Deadline: October 15, 2011. 
In keeping with our mission to provide a platform for artistic exposure, the AC Institute will be unveiling a bi-weekly rotating video project, entitled Flat Out, along with our exhibition and performance calendar for the 2011-2012 year. On select Thursdays, the gallery will exhibit a new video work by emerging and experimental artists from around the globe on a LCD screen mounted at the entrance to the gallery. (New) Open Call for Exhibition Proposals: Walker's Point Center for the Arts, 2012 - WI
September 15, 11. WPCA is a nonprofit organization in support of visual and performing arts and education. With two gallery spaces and seven yearly exhibitions, WPCA has formed a firm grounding as one of Milwaukee’s premier art venues. We are currently accepting proposals for the latter part of our 2012 exhibition season. WPCA does not host solo exhibitions, therefore singular proposals accepted for exhibition will be paired with artists whose work parallels theirs in aesthetic or content. Artist pairs/groups are encouraged to apply. WPCA provides a small stipend, email/mail postcard invitations to over 600 recipients including press, vinyl lettering for the exhibition, food for reception. Kissimmee Sculpture Experience - FL

The purpose of the Kissimmee Sculpture Experience is to promote and market Historic Downtown Kissimmee as an up and coming art and cultural destination by displaying original sculptures around Downtown Kissimmee in the form of a walking tour. This event promotes awareness of the arts by giving people, who would not normally have access to a museum, an opportunity to view and appreciate art. As part of the Sculpture Experience, Kissimmee Main Street, which is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization, will actively promote the sale of all sculptures on display. We have created a comprehensive strategy to market the Sculpture Experience that utilizes brochures, newspapers, radio, magazine and internet advertising. This gives each artist excellent exposure to potential proprietors taking the walking tour. We also host and end of the year gala to present the artists awards, and two Sip n Stroll events per year where we invite the public to take a walking guided tour, stopping at each sculpture. ) Kissimmee Main Street is accepting sculpture entries to be part of our 5th annual Kissimmee Sculpture Experience. This is a year-long exhibit of original outdoor sculptures. A total of $11,000 in cash prizes is available. This event is open to all artists from across North America. Submissions must be suitable for extended outdoor display. The deadline for entries is September 1st 2011 and placement of sculptures will begin on October 22 and 23. The FPAC Gallery in Boston is seeking proposals for 8 week group shows of two or more artists for the 2011/12 season, deadline September 10 by 5pm. Night Sky: Evanston Art Center - IL

Night Sky argues for the relevance of a quintessentially human activity: looking up at the stars. The purpose of the exhibition is to explore the possibilities for reconnecting with a vital part of our biological, historical and cultural heritage that is in danger of extinction. Artists whose works examine the meaning of the night sky in contemporary culture are invited to submit work samples and proposals. All media will be considered for exhibition, including paintings, drawings, sculpture, photographs, video and installations. To submit proposals and work samples, send an email to call4artists@evanstonartcenter.org with “Night Sky” in the email subject line. Include your contact information, a cover letter, artist’s statement, CV and 10-12 images (low resolution JPEGS). Include a title, date, medium and dimensions for each art work. 2012 National Women's Caucus for Art - Call for Art! “Momentum” - Contemporary Women’s Art. Form & Function Exhibition: Bridgewater State University - MA

Bridgewater State University seeks submissions for a group exhibition that focuses on contemporary crafts. We encourage submissions that push the notions of craft. Open to media including, but not limited to: ceramics, glass, textiles, industrial design, furniture, basketry, jewelry & metal works, and bookbinding. This exhibition will be on display from February 13th to March 16th, 2012. (New) Road Trip: Arts Guild New Jersey - NJ
Deadline: September 15, 11. Road Trip: My America highlights the viewpoints of artists examining uniquely American themes such as American history, icons and landmarks, pastimes, and our collective culture. This can be interpreted in many different ways (ie. Focus could be on a specific subject, such as roadside architecture, or a concept like the American Dream). The exhibition loosely touches on the changing American landscape, identity (what it means to be an American), and American politics and policies. This show is not specifically about Americana folk art or historical references, although those themes can certainly be aspects of the work shown. Group exhibit in non-profit art gallery. The Vilcek Foundation is pleased to announce a new initiative entitled dART, short for digital art, developed to celebrate the creativity and accomplishments of foreign-born artists working in the realm of new media art. We will be accepting submissions of work created by foreign-born artists using computer-based and new media technologies, to be featured in a brand-new digital art space created for this program—dARTboard—premiering on Vilcek.org in January 2012. Submissions from artists will be accepted electronically until 5pm EDT on October 21st, 2011. Eligible applicants must be foreign-born (originally foreign citizens) and be permanent US residents (green card holders) or naturalized US citizens.
